a little about what we put into our puppies

Each of our puppies goes through a carefully structured enrichment and socialization program before they ever leave for their forever homes. From the very beginning, we expose them to car rides, household and environmental sounds, different surfaces and textures, children, new places, and gentle daily handling. This helps them build confidence, adaptability, and trust in people.

We also implement ENS (Early Neurological Stimulation) and ESI (Early Scent Introduction) protocols, which have been proven to support a puppy’s long-term development:

  • ENS (Early Neurological Stimulation):
Performed during the first weeks of life, ENS gently stimulates a puppy’s neurological system through simple exercises. This has been shown to:

    • Strengthen cardiovascular performance (stronger heart beats, healthier heart rate)

    • Build stronger immune systems

    • Improve stress tolerance and recovery

    • Enhance overall resilience and adaptability in adulthood

  • ESI (Early Scent Introduction):
Puppies are introduced to new scents daily, which helps develop their brain and scenting abilities. Benefits include:

    • Improved scenting skills (useful for service, therapy, and family dogs alike)

    • Better problem-solving ability

    • Increased curiosity and confidence in exploring new environments

    • Stronger adaptability to change

In addition to ENS and ESI, we begin early potty training, basic obedience foundations, and manners so your puppy has a head start on transitioning into your home.

When it’s time to go home, each puppy leaves with:

  • A 2-year genetic health guarantee

  • A puppy starter kit with essentials

  • Limited registration paperwork[full registration to approved homes]

  • Microchip

  • A cozy blanket carrying the scent of their mom and littermates for comfort during the transition

At The Klepper Homestead, our goal is to give every puppy the very best foundation — physically, mentally, and emotionally — so they grow into happy, healthy companions who thrive in family life.

Full registration is only available under a co-ownership breeding & show contract. Breeding rights cannot simply be purchased — they are reserved for approved, purpose-driven programs focused on health, structure, and temperament.

Transparency matters to us. We want every family to understand our commitment to responsible breeding and the lifelong well-being of each puppy. You can review our Sample Puppy Contract below, which outlines health guarantees, spay/neuter expectations, microchipping, and our continued support for every puppy we place.

Over the years, we’ve found a few products that make puppy transitions, training, grooming, and day-to-day care much easier. I’ve put together a list of items we personally use and recommend for our puppies and adult dogs.

These are not required purchases, but they may be helpful as you prepare for your puppy’s arrival or build your puppy supply list.
